Author was born in Turkey in 1910 as Badrig der Stepanian. Part of his family was killed during the Armenian Genocide. The rest moved out and came to Canada in 1926. His memoir describes fighting with 1400 other Canadian volunteers within International Brigades in Spain (1936-39) against the forces of the future dictator, General Franco. He dictated his account to his wife shortly before his death in 1987. Uncommon title.
