Winfield Miller
Charles was born January 13th 1922 1 am in Chicago Illinois.
When in high school he attended a few classes at The American Academy in Chicago.
winning two scholarships after submitting a drawing in a contest. He Attended night school in order to attend a 6 month course at The American Academy that was run by Ruth Ford. He then attended A full year at The Chicago Academy.
The following summer he and a friend won a two month scholarship at The Charles Hawthorn school of Art in Cape Cod Maine. In 1941 returning back to school in the fall of 42 then by December he was sent to the advertising agency Sunblum and Anderson this was to be the beginning of his work as a commercial Artist .
He started working in commercial Art in 1942
when he joined the studios of Haddon Sunblum and Harry Anderson working For the next 40 years. The commercial art field gave him all the Necessary skills he would need to move into the field of fine Arts painting Charles was a Fine Teacher and Portrait Painter as well. moving to Jackson hole Wyoming around 1980 painting there for a decade then moving to Big fork Montana where he finished his carrier in painting until his passing in 1995.
He was 73 years old.
