Märt Laarman (1896-1979) was largely self-taught artist and belonged to the core of the Estonian Artists Group (Eesti Kuntsnikkute Ryhm),
which was established in late 1923 in Tartu. The aim of the Group was Constructivism and Cubism enlightenment and propaganda.
Later Laarman became the leader of the Group. In 1928 Laarman edited and published legendary The Book of New Art (Uue Kunsti Raamat),
the Group's programs almanac, which gave a great contribution to Cubism/Constructivism development in Estonia. The Artists of the Group,
turned a new page in book design and Laarman was one of the best of them. Laarman became the most persistent follower of the constructivist movement.
