This simple tool is used to detect
exhaust hydrocarbon residues that mange to find their way into the coolant
system either through leaking head gaskets or cracks in block or cylinder
heads. The unit is filled to the required level and then used to "SNIFF"
the air in the top of the radiator or header tank the reagent is normally
blue but will turn various shades of yellow in the presence of any exhaust
gas. It provides an early warning of impending problems or enables the
user to confirm problems diagnosed by other means. Further supplies of
Fluid are available as and when required .
