What do you mean by any combination of tests?
We understand that there are numerous factors that affect the menstrual cycle and the chances of conceiving including important considerations such as irregular cycles, PCOS, hormone treatments, a lazy ovary, previous miscarriages, breast feeding etc. The purpose of this fertilitypack is designed to enable you to select the number and the type of tests you need to ensure that the pack you receive fits your particular situation perfectly.

How do I choose which combination to have?
Very simple - just buy the item and go through to check-out in the normal way. When you check out there is the opportunity then to leave a message to seller - simply click on the "Add message" icon and this will open a box allowing you to leave us the message about the combination that you would like. Alternatively you can always send us a message via eBay. Simply tell us the combination you want - 15 pregnancy tests, or 15 ovulation tests, or 5 pregnancy tests + 10 ovulation tests etc. The only condition is that the combination can't be more than 15. If you buy multiple lots then you can do the same so if you buy 2 lots then that is 30 tests in any combination you like.

What if I don't tell you the combination of tests I would like?
If you forget to tell us the combination you want then we will send you 10 ovulation tests and 5 pregnancy tests. So if this is not what you want then make sure you tell us what you do want before we despatch your order. 

How good are these tests?
We now sell literally millions of these tests in the UK and throughout the world - they are made specifically for us and comply with CE (European Community) and FDA (United States) rules and regulations and every pack has the approval details printed on them. Every batch is checked religiously for quality and accuracy - they are more than 99% accurate. As for the expiry dates, they will always be at least 1 year away and more often nearly 2 years (which is the legal maximum).

What is a "cassette" test?
The cassette test is highly accurate and is designed for professional use. Full instructions are included in the test pack but basically you need to collect a urine sample and use the pipette (included in the test pack) to transfer a few drops of urine onto the test cassette.

What is ovulation and the process of conception?
As the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words" so we have included a short video (don't forget to turn the sound up) which we feel gives an excellent short description of ovulation, including the whole process of conception (fertilization and implantation) from the release of the egg from the ovary right up to the implantation of the fertilized egg at which point pregnancy has occurred, HCG is produced and the embryo starts to grow. If you have problems viewing the video or have a slow internet connection wait until the video is fully buffered before playing the entire video - i.e press pause once the video starts loading and wait until loading is complete before pressing play.

How exactly do you measure a menstrual cycle?
Very simply a menstrual cycle is defined as starting on the day of first bleed to the start of your next bleed. So Cycle Day 12 (CD12) would be 12 days after you first started your period.

What do you mean by a Fertilityplan chart?
If you are trying for a baby then you need to do a few very simple things to try and ensure you get pregnant as soon as possible. The Fertilityplan chart summarises what you notice about your body during your cycle and when these changes are charted and combined with other help such as ovulation tests and temperature changes you can more easily pinpoint when you are ovulating. We will email you a chart you can print out and use for free.

Why should I keep a Fertilityplan chart?
There is only a very small window within each cycle when your body releases an egg (ovulation). This window, which may last only 36 hours, is the only time you can get pregnant during that cycle so knowing how to pinpoint the timing when the egg is released can be very important.

What other bodily changes should I look for to know when I am about to ovulate?
The consistency of cervical mucus changes throughout the menstrual cycle. Usually after you finish your bleed you will have 3/4 days when you have dry days. The wetness then increases daily usually lasting about 9 days at which point the mucus will become plentiful, slippery, clear and stretchy. The best comparison is that it is like egg whites and at this point it is a good sign that ovulation will occur in the next couple of days. After ovulation occurs the mucus will again become more sticky less stretchy and then dryer again.

The line indicates the normal basal body temperature for a woman before getting up - about 0.8 degrees Fahrenheit below normal body temperature during the day. The dots represent the daily recorded temperature and you just connect the dots each day with a line to join them. Other information is added such as the results of the ovulation tests, condition of your cervical mucus and days when intercourse took place etc. 

How does a basal digital thermometer help?
Basically there is a slight temperature drop just before ovulation occurs and then a distinct temperature rise of about 0.40 to 1.0 degrees Fahrenheit after ovulation takes place. This rise in temperature remains for several days before falling back when you are about to start your period. By plotting your temperature change during your cycle you will know when you have ovulated. By using the ovulation tests you will know when you are about to ovulate and then the basal thermometer will confirm that ovulation has taken place. 

How do I get a basal digital thermometer and how is it different from a normal thermometer?

Pregnancy Tests 

How does a home pregnancy test work?
A home pregnancy test measures the presence of the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (H.C.G.) in your urine. H.C.G. is produced in the placenta shortly after the embryo attaches to the uterine lining. This hormone then builds up rapidly in your body in the first few days following implantation. Usually H.C.G. can be detected by a home pregnancy test 7-10 days after conception. The further in to the pregnancy you are the higher the levels of H.C.G. in your urine. 

When should I do the test?
The tests can be taken at any time of the day. However, we do recommend that you test first thing in the morning when your urine is most concentrated. Do not drink large amounts of fluid in an attempt to increase the volume of urine as this may dilute the urine making H.C.G. more difficult to detect.
