"OK Charles. A "Scan-Globe" is a translucent plastic globe of the world. Made in Scandianavia(sic). Inside the globe is a tilting mechanism with a lens and the 25T8C (or 25T8DC) lightbulb. The base of the globe has two knobs which rotate the globe & tilt the inside mechanism to provide a light-spot, showing thru from the inside of the globe, which corresponds to the Latitude & Longitude of the adjustment knobs. The base also has a thermometer, a barometer & a hydrometer on it.
Look on eBay. They show up there from time-to-time. That is where I got mine.
