Antique Victorian Circa 1860s Civil War Period Long Paisley Fringed Shawl in Silk & Wool measures approx 58" wide, 125" Long. You can read about the textile composition online from the Hopkins Costume Trust (a near identical shawl is shown & described here), who also note that France had a thriving shawl weaving industry at the time. The Shawl has numerous holes, (many of which I've indicated), there are 3 in the center area and many on the edges, I'm sure there was fringe on both ends but that must've been removed at some point, there's also some light intermittent fade.
