Condition Scale:
Mint
(I reserve "mint" for professionally graded cards, regardless of actual condition.)
[NM] Near Mint
(No plainly visible scratches/dents. At first glance a Mint card.
Foil and Finish is clear and bright. Only minor edge whitening or a small factory defect.)
[Exc] Excellent
(Near Mint with Only One minor but obvious blemish, such as a dent.
What many sellers still call "Near Mint". Great binder appeal!)
[LP] Lightly Played
(Obvious, noticeable blemishes, but still Great binder appeal!
Foil and Finish of card has some buffing, light scratches, denting, and/or edge-whitening.)
[MP] Moderately Played
(There is an imperfection such as a dent or large scratch that excludes it from "Lightly Played" condition.
Multiple points of edge-whitening, beyond a few cycles of sleeving of shuffling.)
[HP] Heavily Played
(Extensive degree of the above blemishes: Holo/Foil is dull from buffing. No changes to physical structure of the card.
Ebay calls this "moderately Played".)
[DMG] Damaged
(Folds, tears, moisture damage, wrinkling, or other changes to card structure.
Ebay calls this "Heavily Played".)
