Aluminium Cutting Bits Holder — Red

The handle that DSPIAE push broaches and gap scrapers are made for. Magnetic bit hold, and an octagonal body that will not roll off the bench.

This is the holder on its own. It takes tools with a 3.175 mm (1/8") shank, such as the DSPIAE ZPB push broaches and GS gap scrapers, which are listed separately in our shop.

🎯 Why this one is different

DSPIAE sell their push broaches, gap scrapers and scribing bits as bare tungsten steel tips on a 3.175 mm shank. On their own they are not much use — you need something to hold them. A pin vice can do it if it opens wide enough, but many small ones do not, and a round body has a habit of rolling off the edge of the desk.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Tungsten steel is very hard and very brittle. A 0.1 mm broach tip that lands on a hard floor is usually a broken broach tip.

The AT-EH01-PRO is DSPIAE's own answer. An octagonal body that stays where you put it down. A built-in magnet that holds the bit in place so it does not work loose or drop out. And a matte grip that stays put in your fingers during long scribing sessions.

💡 Getting the best from it

1. One holder per bit you use most. Every bit change means handling a brittle tip. If you scribe regularly with two or three widths, a holder for each saves time and saves tips.

2. Seat the bit fully. Push it all the way home before you start, so the magnet has a full grip and the tip runs straight.

3. Many light passes. With a push broach or scraper, depth comes from repetition, not pressure. Heavy pressure is what chips tungsten tips and jumps the line.

4. Use a guide. Scribing tape or a flexible straight edge keeps the first passes on line. Once the groove is started, the tool follows it.

5. Keep the magnet end clean. A magnet collects steel dust from the bench. Wipe it now and then so the bit seats properly.

6. Store bits protected. When a bit is out of the holder, keep it in its case. Loose tungsten tips in a drawer do not stay sharp for long.

Handle only. It does nothing until you fit a bit. Budget for at least one ZPB or GS bit.

3.175 mm shanks only. It is not a scalpel or craft-knife handle and will not take flat blades. Thin-shank micro drill bits will not fit either.
