1909-S Barber Half Dollar 50c PCGS Certified XF Details Tooled Sometimes Dark Coins are better left alone! This coin was originally in a PCGS VF35 Holder. It was a little darker than now and obviously a solid XF. Several years ago I cracked it out and was able to lighten it up a bit with acetone. I didn't notice until it came back in the details holder that Liberty's cheek had numerous scratches that were revealed with the acetone bath. It's still a nice looking coin and the scratches are not apparant without magnification for me.
