Aluminum has long been favored by drummers who want clarity without excessive ring, and this OCDP Raw Aluminum snare drum leans fully into that character. Sized at 14x6.5" and sporting a sealed raw finish, it delivers fast attack, controlled decay and articulate response that stays tight in both live and studio settings. Released as part of OCDP’s 35th anniversary return, this snare reflects the brand’s distinctive materials and bold designs that helped shape alternative music throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. The 1.1 mm shell keeps the response focused with minimal overtones, while chrome-plated hardware, O-type tube lugs and Remo UT heads complete a performance-ready snare drum that carries forward OCDP’s custom shop identity with modern reliability.

Aluminum Shell Delivers Fast Attack and Controlled Decay

The aluminum shell responds quickly with a sharp, articulate attack and naturally dry character. At 1.1 mm thick, the shell produces fast decay and minimal overtones, helping notes remain defined even in dense mixes. The 45-degree bearing edges support consistent head contact and tuning stability, allowing players to shape tight articulation or slightly more open response as needed.

Raw Aluminum Finish Preserves Natural Tone and Visual Character

The sealed raw aluminum finish preserves the shell’s natural tonal response while adding durability for regular use. Compared to warmer materials like wood or copper, aluminum emphasizes clarity and immediacy, producing a controlled, articulate backbeat with reduced sustain and focused projection.

Tube Lugs and Side-Mounted Throw-Off Support Responsive Control

O-type tube lugs reduce shell contact while maintaining stable tension, allowing the drum to resonate naturally while supporting precise tuning control. Meanwhile, the type B side-mounted throw-off enables quick engagement and adjustment, while 20-strand snare wires provide balanced sensitivity across a wide dynamic range.

3.0 mm Inner-Curved Hoops Provide Stable Tuning Platform

3.0 mm inner-curved steel hoops and chrome-plated hardware create a stable tuning platform designed for consistent performance. Remo UT heads come installed for immediate playability, and the overall construction is built to maintain feel and response through rehearsal, recording and live performance.

The Return of Orange County Drum & Percussion

Born out of Southern California’s underground custom drum scene, Orange County Drum & Percussion became one of the most recognizable boutique drum builders of the 1990s and early 2000s. Known for bold finishes, distinctive hardware and kits built for drummers who wanted to stand out on stage, OCDP earned a loyal following among influential artists across rock and alternative music, including 311, Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, Foo Fighters, NOFX, Slipknot and The Offspring. Now relaunched by Guitar Center to coincide with the brand’s 35th anniversary, OCDP returns with a product lineup inspired by its original custom shop designs while introducing updated builds for today’s drummers. Guided by founder Daniel Jensen and longtime OCDP artist Adrian Young of No Doubt, the new collection carries forward the visual identity and stage-driven attitude that defined the brand, reimagined for a new generation of drummers.
