Archive of Zionist S. Fishel, correspondence and other papers of him and his family, 50 items, 1920-50’s

Yiddish, Polish, German, Palestine, Poland and other countries. Different condition.

Most of the letters are addressed to Simon (Shimon) Fischel/Fischel in Tel Aviv, at 134 Ben Yehuda Street.

There are letters from Poland, France, the USA (Brooklyn), and also from Palestine/Israel.

Some of the texts are written in Yiddish, others in Hebrew, and there are also Polish and French documents.

The envelopes retain airmail labels "LOTNICZA / PAR AVION," Polish stamps, and postmarks from the 1930s.

One of the documents is an invitation or notification from a Jewish organization in Hebrew and Polish.

Judging by the dates and addresses, the correspondence covers the period before World War II and the immediate postwar years. Letters in Yiddish from Poland addressed to relatives in Tel Aviv. Such letters often contain: family news; information about emigration; requests for assistance; information about relatives who survived or did not survive the Holocaust.
