Steiff Harlequin Teddy Bear Centenary Danbury Mint 2002 Boxed Certificate 0102
Saying used but only because the box has been opened and the bear has been handled. The bear hasn't been played with or displayed, it has been kept in box. The item itself is in very good condition, it may show some signs of age related wear but nothing major I can see or pinpoint at all. The box shows signs of wear and tear such as marks, scrapes, dings etc but does still hold the item well and displays well. Please study the photos to gauge condition for yourself, the photos form an important part of the description.

CONDITION REPORT
• The Teddy Bear: Good display condition. The bear is structurally sound with fully functional 5-way jointing. Please note that the mohair features natural, distinct areas of thinning across the limbs and seams, exposing the woven backing cloth underneath. This is a deliberate design characteristic implemented by Steiff during manufacturing to replicate the weathered look of an authentic 1925 antique; it does not represent play wear or post-factory damage. The yellow felt paw pads are clean and flat. The eyes, nose stitching, and ear tags are perfect.
• Documentation & Packaging: The original paper Danbury Mint certificate is present, clean, and flat with clear serial stamping. The original cream-colored illustrated Steiff box is in good, clean condition with no major tears, corner splits, or heavy creases. (Please closely inspect all macro photographs to satisfy yourself with the exact condition before purchasing). It does show signs of wear and tear such as scuffs, marks, scrapes but nothing major to report
The legendary "Harlequin" bear is one of the most famous and mythical designs in Steiff's entire history. The original was produced as a one-off prototype in 1925, showcasing a striking, theatrical split-color design with mismatched blue and amber eyes. Because the original bears are virtually impossible to obtain on the open market, replicas are highly coveted.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the teddy bear in 2002, the Danbury Mint commissioned Steiff to produce this authorized miniature replica series. Because high-end Steiff buyers place immense premium value on low production numbers, an example bearing a low double-zero serial number like 0102 is highly collectible.
