I have an upgrade kit for the DDR Aluminum Motor Pod Assembly Number DDRR-A0200-001. The idea behind this is to provide a secure mechanism/assembly to stop motor movement due to impacts. The DDR motor pod DDRR-A0200 is fine for normal oval racing but certain classes such as the DDB 2Ltr class cause very very high deceleration forces which can result in the motor moving even with an aluminum motor pod.
The design uses an external clamp plate to hold the motor with a horizontal bolt pushing up against the clamp plate to prevent the clamp plate moving. The bolt has a locking nut to prevent is coming undone during racing. the horizontal bolt should only be lightly tightened up against the clamp plate and not fully tightened.
To ensure the kit is easy to live with the pinion grub screw is accessible from below, see pic and the horizontal bolt is accessible from above the pod.
