Item may have been read at some point but has been in storage for some time. Item item shows signs of wear and tear such as marks, scrapes, scuffs, page yellowing, writing on page etc but does still really look good. Here I have for sale a wonderful antique miniature pocket edition of William Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, Hamlet. This highly collectible small-format volume features a flexible real hide leather cover with elegant gold-gilt lettering on the spine, making it a perfect addition to any miniature library or Shakespeare collection.

Condition Report
The book is in good, sound vintage condition. The original flexible leather covers remain solid with tight hinges, showing expected surface scuffing, corner wear, and edge rubbing consistent with age. Internally, the text block is secure. The page edges have naturally darkened over time, but the interior leaves remain clean, bright, and free from modern handwriting, heavy foxing, or torn pages.

Miniature and pocket-sized editions of Shakespeare's plays experienced a massive boom in the UK between 1900 and 1935. Publishers realized that the rising middle class and students wanted affordable, highly portable copies of classic literature that could easily fit into a waistcoat pocket or a small travel bag. Often sold individually or as part of a complete 40-volume set, these "Real Hide" English editions became iconic staples of early 20th-century British book design.
