Up for auction is a 5" x 25" theater mylar for the classic screwball comedy Bringing Up Baby.

Cary Grant stars as a mild-mannered paleontologist whose carefully ordered life is turned upside down after he meets a free-spirited heiress played by Katharine Hepburn. A missing dinosaur bone, a tame leopard named Baby and a series of increasingly chaotic misunderstandings turn his quiet weekend into a hilarious disaster.

This design features Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant alongside colorful illustrated scenes from the film, including both of its memorable leopards. The bold black Bringing Up Baby title stretches across the center, with the stars’ names displayed on the right. The bright yellow, blue and red artwork becomes even more noticeable when illuminated.

Mylars in this long, narrow format were used in lighted signs outside movie theater auditoriums to identify the film playing inside. They make an interesting piece of theater memorabilia and are easy to display in a home theater, movie room or film collection.

The first photo shows the actual Bringing Up Baby mylar illuminated in a lightbox. The second shows the same mylar normally, without backlighting. The final photo shows a different mylar displayed at an actual movie theater and is included only as an example of how these were originally used. The mylar in that final reference photo is not included.

Lightbox is not included.
