*NO SHIPPING TO CHINA, DO NOT BID as you will be Unable to Pay** Original Antique 1870s 2-Piece Ivory Walking Bustle Dress with Princess Seamed Jacket & Long Train at Skirt. There are two elongated metal stays down either side of the waistline, brass hook/eye closures down front and the most FABULOUS PAGODA SLEEVES. The Inside Bodice has Puffy Pads hand-stitched into the armpits and shoulders, interior waist tape also fastens with hooks/eyes. Tail Falls Over the MASSIVE GATHERED BUSTLE SKIRT, Some of the Gathers and pleating has let down as shown. Skirt is lined in Glazed Cotton, the hooks/eyes at the waist of the skirt are missing. This has a combination of Hand and Machine Construction, there are a TON OF STAINS at the skirt, Nobody cared, sad to say, but I never leave a piece of this age behind, regardless of condition as I'm always sure someone out there can appreciate it or re-purpose it. I have not made any attempts to clean it, estate-direct. There is spottiness at the bodice as well as some spots but nowhere near what is on the skirt. I see some a lot of loose stitches at the bodice, (I can't put my finger on this fabric), it's heavy and is waled, but if it were wool I'd think there'd be moth holes, and there are none so I'm going with Silk. Bodice measures Chest 29-30", Waist 20-21", Shoulder seam to seam 14 1/2", Length shoulder to hem 18 1/2". Skirt Waist measures 20", Free Hip, Length waist to hem in Front 40", Length waist to hem in back 64".
