Darlene Dean, Rug, Yei, Navajo, 30" x 26"
This striking Yei rug by Navajo weaver Darlene Dean features a detailed ceremonial-inspired composition filled with colorful figures. A procession of elongated Yei figures stands prominently against the rich dark background, each distinguished by vibrant colors and carefully woven geometric details. The repeating figures create a strong visual rhythm, while the larger figures at either side beautifully frame the central scene. Fine details throughout the clothing, headdresses, and surrounding accents showcase the precision and skill involved in the weaving. Handwoven in the Navajo tradition, this Darlene Dean Yei rug is a distinctive work of textile artistry with exceptional visual character.
