Item: US Army WW2 British Made M-1936 Khaki Suspenders

Markings: "U.S." stamped at the interior front left shoulder, along with the classic British "broad arrow" acceptance mark, their maker and date, "M.W.&S. LTD 1944", and "BRITISH MADE".

Condition: These suspenders are in Excellent Condition. Some light scattered spot soiling. Some light scattered finish abrading and spot patina to the darkened metal and brass hardware. A few of the spring tabs on the bottom hooks remain askew. Classic M-1936 "X"-back design.

Historical Background: During WW2, the US Army used local British made "reverse lend lease" gear to avoid shipping equipment halfway around the world. The program included uniforms, pistol belts, musette bags, canteen covers, M-1936 suspenders, and more.
