Hermann Wagner wurde 1943 im oberbayerischen Oberstdorf geboren und verstarb 2020 in Fürth.
Nach seinem Studium der Freien Malerei an der Kunstakademie in Nürnberg von 1961 bis 1965 entwickelte er eine eigenständige Bildsprache, die er in einem langjährigen Arbeitsprozess kontinuierlich weiter ausformte. Ab Mitte der 1960er‑Jahre prägten mehrjährige Aufenthalte in Irland, insbesondere in Dublin und Arklow, seine künstlerische Sicht; das Land wurde zu einem zentralen Motiv- und Inspirationsraum seines Werkes, den er in zahlreichen Bildern immer wieder neu verhandelte. Bereits in diesen Jahren folgten erste Ausstellungen in Irland und in Deutschland, in denen sich sein Interesse an atmosphärischen Räumen und figurativen Andeutungen abzeichnete.
Studienaufenthalte in Italien 1979/80 erweiterten seinen Horizont um mediterrane Licht- und Farberfahrungen, die in seinen späteren Arbeiten subtil nachklingen. In den 1970er und 1980er Jahren zeigte er in Ausstellungen in Erlangen, Fürth, Dublin und London sowie in verschiedenen Orten in Irland; seine Werke kamen darüber hinaus in private Sammlungen und institutionelle Bestände in Deutschland und Irland. Themen wie Transzendenz, Sinnlichkeit und die Grenze zwischen Körper und Alltag blieben im Zentrum seiner Arbeit und fanden in mehreren thematisch kuratierten Ausstellungen in Kirchen und privaten Präsentationsräumen ihren Raum.
Nach seinem Tod wurden seine Arbeiten in mehreren Atelierausstellungen gewürdigt, zunächst 2020 in Fürth, dann 2022 und 2023 in Form von Schwerpunkten zu Erotik und Irland. Ergänzt wurden diese von Projekten wie „Upcycling“ und „Erotica II“ 2024 sowie Präsentationen in Potsdam, die die Spannweite seines Œuvres und seine Auseinandersetzung mit Material, Begehren und Imagination sichtbar machen.
Seit 2022 firmiert das Atelier unter dem Namen seines Künstlerpseudonyms - sein künstlerisches Erbe wird dort in einem lebendigen Ausstellungs- und Diskursraum weitergeführt.
Zustand
Die Malerei ist in gutem Zustand. Minimale Oberflächenverunreinigungen. Rand minimale Druckstellen.
Die Bilder sind so detailreich wie möglich fotografiert. Teilweise sind die Abbildungen stark vergrößert. Der Zustand des Artikels ist am besten auf den Bildern zu sehen. Durch unterschiedliche Farbeinstellungen der Monitore sind geringe Farbabweichungen zum Auktionsgegenstand möglich.

The work comes directly from the estate of the artist from Fürth in Franconia, who has only recently been rediscovered.

Hermann Wagner was born in Oberstdorf, Upper Bavaria, in 1943 and died in Fürth in 2020. After studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg from 1961 to 1965, he developed his own unique visual language, which he continued to refine over many years of work. From the mid-1960s onwards, several years spent in Ireland, particularly in Dublin and Arklow, shaped his artistic vision; the country became a central motif and source of inspiration for his work, which he repeatedly revisited in numerous paintings. During these years, he had his first exhibitions in Ireland and Germany, in which his interest in atmospheric spaces and figurative allusions became apparent.
Study visits to Italy in 1979/80 broadened his horizons with Mediterranean experiences of light and color, which are subtly echoed in his later works. In the 1970s and 1980s, he exhibited in Erlangen, Fürth, Dublin, and London, as well as in various locations in Ireland; his works also found their way into private collections and institutional holdings in Germany and Ireland. Themes such as transcendence, sensuality, and the boundary between the body and everyday life remained at the center of his work and found their place in several thematically curated exhibitions in churches and private presentation spaces.
After his death, his work was honored in several studio exhibitions, first in Fürth in 2020, then in 2022 and 2023 in the form of exhibitions focusing on eroticism and Ireland. These were complemented by projects such as “Upcycling” and “Erotica II” in 2024, as well as presentations in Potsdam, which highlight the breadth of his oeuvre and his exploration of material, desire, and imagination. Since 2022, the studio has been operating under the name of his artist pseudonym, continuing his artistic legacy in a vibrant exhibition and discourse space.

Hermann Wagner est né en 1943 à Oberstdorf, en Haute-Bavière, et est décédé en 2020 à Fürth. Après avoir étudié la peinture libre à l'Académie des beaux-arts de Nuremberg de 1961 à 1965, il a développé un langage pictural unique, qu'il n'a cessé de perfectionner au fil de nombreuses années de travail. À partir du milieu des années 1960, plusieurs séjours en Irlande, notamment à Dublin et Arklow, ont marqué sa vision artistique ; le pays est devenu un motif central et une source d'inspiration pour son œuvre, qu'il a sans cesse réinterprétée dans de nombreux tableaux. C'est déjà à cette époque qu'ont eu lieu ses premières expositions en Irlande et en Allemagne, dans lesquelles son intérêt pour les espaces atmosphériques et les allusions figuratives s'est manifesté.
Des séjours d'études en Italie en 1979/80 ont élargi son horizon grâce à des expériences méditerranéennes de lumière et de couleur, qui trouvent un écho subtil dans ses œuvres ultérieures. Dans les années 1970 et 1980, il expose à Erlangen, Fürth, Dublin et Londres, ainsi que dans différentes villes d'Irlande ; ses œuvres sont également intégrées à des collections privées et institutionnelles en Allemagne et en Irlande. Des thèmes tels que la transcendance, la sensualité et la frontière entre le corps et le quotidien sont restés au centre de son travail et ont trouvé leur place dans plusieurs expositions thématiques organisées dans des églises et des salles d'exposition privées.
Après sa mort, ses œuvres ont été mises à l'honneur dans plusieurs expositions d'atelier, d'abord à Fürth en 2020, puis en 2022 et 2023 sous la forme d'expositions consacrées à l'érotisme et à l'Irlande. Ces expositions ont été complétées par des projets tels que « Upcycling » et « Erotica II » en 2024, ainsi que par des présentations à Potsdam, qui mettent en évidence l'étendue de son œuvre et son exploration des matériaux, du désir et de l'imagination. Depuis 2022, l'atelier porte le nom de son pseudonyme artistique et perpétue son héritage artistique dans un espace d'exposition et de discussion vivant.

Expédition internationale
Vous trouverez nos frais d'expédition pour les livraisons internationales après avoir saisi votre adresse de livraison à la caisse. En fonction du pays de livraison et de la valeur des marchandises, il peut y avoir des frais supplémentaires pour le dédouanement, qui ne sont pas indiqués au moment de la commande. Si tel est le cas, nous vous en informerons.
Fin de l`enchére
À la fin de l`enchére vous êtes informés par mail des modalités de paiement.
La marchandise est généralement expédiée le jour ouvrable suivant le paiement ou dans les 48 heures suivantes. Nous interrogeons les paiments bancaires en ligne plusieurs fois par jour et transmettons ceux-ci immédiatement à l`expédition.
