Description
We got this from an old collection. It was found near Glass Buttes in Central Oregon.
This piece has colorful bands and flashes of fire in the black obsidian on both sides. I see a short hairline fracture on the edge of one side, but it's solid otherwise. This material is directional, so you'll want to orient it when cutting to get the best flash of color, which can be tricky, but well worth the effort.
It measures, at its widest:
6-1/2" x 4-1/2" x 3/8"
Weight: 11.2 oz
Pictures were taken of each side with the slab wet, except for the picture with the tape measure, which was taken dry.
