Snowflake Obsidian from a physical standpoint, it’s very similar to Black Obsidian. Like the more traditional variant, this stone forms when volcanic lava and gas cool down rapidly. However, what makes Snowflake Obsidian unique is the tiny inclusions of white called Cristobalite. These slight inclusions are a product of trapped minerals that can’t escape as the lava cools. They form snowflake-like patterns all through the glass.
