Here is a brief history of the poster that is printed on the metal storage tin...
Chromolithograph recruiting poster, artist unknown, published by the Parliamentary Recruitment Committee as Poster No. 120, printed by Abbey Press, London, 1915 (c).

This one plays on the contribution made by Britain's married volunteers and suggests that single men, with no family ties, should be 'following their noble example'.
