Item Description

GOLD STAR G11 FE (no260925)

This is a 1970s Tokai Gakki banjo with a flying eagle inlay and arched headstock, designed in the style of a 1930s Gibson RB-3.

GOLDSTAR was a brand of the San Francisco musical instrument trading company SAGA, and was produced by Tokai Gakki, which also produced exquisite Gibson Mastertone models from the 1970s to the 1980s.
In addition to the regular TOKAI, it features a two-piece flange and arched tone ring that reproduce the 1930s Mastertone style, and the details of the design are also made to have the feel of a pre-war Gibson.
There are few of these remaining, and instruments that remain in good condition are extremely valuable.

It has a light, bright tone with clear articulation and a reverb-like sound.

The neck and resonator are mahogany, the fingerboard is rosewood, and it has a flying eagle inlay.
It has a nickel-plated two-piece flange and arched tone ring.
The tuners are original, and the tailpiece is an original pressed-type nickel-plated.
A slide capo is attached to the side of the neck.
The headstock has a REMO medium coating, and the bridge has been replaced with a new one.

The paint on the neck and resonator is in good condition with almost no scratches.
The nickel plating shows some tarnishing, but is otherwise in good condition.
Although it is an instrument from about half a century ago, it is in good condition and is in beautiful condition.
The 1st string is set at about 2.0 mm at the 12th fret.
The neck is straight and the truss rod is OK.

It has the lightness and clarity characteristic of an archtop headstock, and a reverberant sound, making it a very good-sounding instrument.
By tightening the headstock more, it will have a brighter, harder tone, but it is set a little looser for a warmer feel.
This is a valuable Japanese vintage instrument with excellent sound and condition, and is ready to be played on stage.

The original hardshell case is included.
