This object is a vintage Lenk alcohol torch which is a small hand-held heating or soldering tool from the early to mid 20th century. Made of brass and copper with a red metal side handle. For use with denatured alcohol or similar fuel in the main cylindrical tank to produce a small focused flame for soldering, plumbing, or light craft work. This torch belonged do my father in law who worked the mines in southern Illinois in the mid-late 30's to early 40's. It is in good shape for it's use and age. The cap seems to be stuck on but could probably be removed with some WD40 and elbow grease! Thanks for looking!
