Nepalese Bronze Hanuman Ritual Lamp Stands Kathmandu Valley 1800's 

A highly unusual matched pair of Nepalese cast bronze ritual candlesticks or lamp supports, each modelled as the Hindu monkey deity Hanuman standing on an openwork lotus-form base and supporting a tall stem with circular drip pan/socket. Each figure has a long curling tail and has an aperture to hold a small vessel in the free hand, possibly for incense. Probably Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, circa 1800's.

CONDITION Considerable age-related wear, oxidation, verdigris and losses to the pierced bases, as photographed - as per images

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
