Up for sale is a beautiful and highly charming piece of authentic social history: an Edwardian folk art marriage stool, dated 1907.This hand-crafted "love token" features an octagonal top decorated with crisp, deeply chiseled geometric chip carvings, showcasing starburst rosettes and stylized heart/fan motifs around the borders.

The underside is hand-marked with the original couple's or maker's initials, "HH MM", alongside the exact year 1907.

The stool features four classic turned wooden legs set directly into the base.

It is finished in a traditional period ebonised (black stained) finish that shows a lovely, authentic patina.

It makes a perfect decorative side table, statement plant stand, or display piece for an antique-filled home.
