Today for sale we have an antique cut out star trade token, an unlisted piece we have not been able to match to any cataloged issue. The design centers on a six point star pierced through a serrated outer ring, with a small American flag device at the center of the star. The face is stamped around the rim with a personalized name and the word WASHINGTON. The reverse carries a small maker and patent stamp reading HARVARD AUT MACH CO JAMESTOWN N Y. The piece has an early look and wears an aged patina with light handling wear, while the star, flag, and lettering all remain crisp and readable. Offered as an unidentified and unlisted token, a fun mystery piece for the exonumia or trade token collector who enjoys running down an unattributed example.
