Ginette Spanier – It Isn’t All Mink, with foreword by Noël Coward.

A remarkable association copy, personally inscribed by Ginette Spanier to Ida and Louise Cook, the celebrated sisters who helped Jewish refugees escape Nazi persecution in the 1930s and were subsequently recognised by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations.

Spanier has written:

The friendship is independently documented. Spanier, who became directrice of the Paris fashion house Pierre Balmain, was part of the Cook sisters’ remarkable post-war circle and introduced them to Marlene Dietrich.

Ida Cook, who also wrote as bestselling novelist Mary Burchell, and Louise were passionate opera devotees whose circle included many of the leading singers of their generation.
