Dating back to the 1930s, this distinctive 9.5 to 10-inch octagonal plate features a central rural scene— two women chatting over a wall—with raised ridge lines that divide the plate into four quarters.
First released in 1933, Series No. 1 was famously produced in 1936 and 1937 as a promotional gift for Angus Watson, proprietor of Skipper Sardines.
