Brand new on the market, a selector shaft seal upgrade kit for the Land Rover Series four speed gearbox (LT76, Series One, II, IIA and III 1948-84). These gearboxes often suffer from oil leaking past the inadequate selector shaft seals, running down the sides of the gearbox and dripping off the bottom. This is usually due to poor quality seals combined with wear in the casing where the shafts slide back and forth, and has become more of an issue as these vehicles get older.

The kit consists of high quality VitonTM seals for the three main gearbox selector shafts (two seals per shaft), high-low selector shaft and four wheel drive engagement pin, and a pair of heavy duty laser cut steel retainers to replace the rather feeble original ones. In most cases the seals can be replaced in the vehicle without removing the gearbox. Please ask if you need instructions for this. Note that the gearbox top cover must be removed and the selector shafts taken out to change the seals. This is well within the abilities of a competent home mechanic but it isn't a ten minute job.
