Vintage Kirk Stieff Pewter Hurricane Chamberstick Candle Holder with Glass Shade

Beautiful vintage Kirk Stieff pewter chamberstick candle holder, complete with its clear glass hurricane shade.

The traditional design features a round pewter drip pan, raised candle cup and graceful finger-loop handle. The removable clear glass hurricane shade has a flared top and a lower glass collar designed to seat inside the candle holder.

The underside is clearly marked Kirk Stieff PEWTER and retains its original paper warning label reading:

“WARNING — DO NOT PERMIT CANDLES TO BURN DOWN INTO HOLDER WHICH MAY CAUSE THE PEWTER TO MELT.”

Measurements:

Pewter pan: approximately 5 3/8” diameter

Overall width including handle: approximately 6 5/8”

Pewter holder height without glass: approximately 3”

Overall height with hurricane shade installed: approximately 9”

Condition:

This vintage piece is being offered as found and unpolished. I have intentionally left the pewter in its existing condition so the new owner may decide whether to retain the aged patina or polish it.

The pewter shows age-appropriate surface wear including scratches, oxidation/tarnish, darkened areas, small marks and areas of pitting/finish wear. There is old candle/wax residue inside the candle cup and old label/tape residue on the underside.

The glass hurricane shade appears very nice in the photographs; please review the photos carefully for condition. (If you’ve checked the rim and bottom collar and there are no chips or cracks, tell me—that is worth stating explicitly.)

The original Kirk Stieff maker’s mark and vintage warning label remain present on the underside.
