The Jerusalem Artichoke  (Helianthus tuberoses) also called sunroot, topinabour or Earth apple, is a simple and easy-to-grow perennial plant that thrives in full sun.  Low watering needs so droughts do not stop it producing multiple heads of vibrant yellow petals. An excellent pollinator, it attracts bees, butterflies and moths,  helping local wildlife as much as adding vibrant colour to your garden. Best planted in a contained area as they can spread fast and overwhelm other plants.  Great as a root vegetable- harvest after the first frost.
