Contemporary Waycross school records identify Q. L. Garrett as principal of the high school in 1912.
A documented 1910 portrait of Garrett is preserved by Emory University Libraries, providing a closely contemporary comparison image. The formally dressed adult standing at the far right of this team photograph is strongly consistent with the historical Garrett attribution.
Contemporary records also identify H. A. Stallings, Henry Arnold Stallings, as a Waycross high-school instructor in Latin and English during this period. Stallings had attended Emory College and later became a prominent Georgia civic leader, including service as Georgia Lions District Governor in 1935–36.
The two adult men appearing with the team correspond closely with the two known male members of the high-school faculty, although individual identification beyond the documented historical evidence should be considered research attribution rather than an original inscription.
