A Chunky and Heavy Silver Plated Torque Bangle
I've seen quite a few of these in the past, often described as slave or currency bangles
Meaning they were either made of a precious metal, to be used as a currency
Or to be used by slave owners to denote the ownership of the person wearing it
As shown in the photos, the base metal is visible where the plating has worn off
Weighs  76.23 grams  2.722 ounces
Approx.  5.9cm  2.3"  wide (external/outside width)
Approx.  4.5cm  1.75"  wide (internal width)
So would only fit a very small wrist - not recommended to be worn as Jewellery
I purchased a lot of these from a local auction house & this is one of them
With the initial 'R' on one end
Silver Plated - with some visible/obvious wear to the Silver
