Condition: Very good vintage condition. The watercolour retains its beautiful, bright pigments and fine architectural linework under glass. The paper shows an honest, light age-related cream tone. Housed in its vintage gold-gilt wood frame with a wide, metallic gold-finish mount card. The reverse shows an authentic torn paper patina with historic gallery pencil marks. Ready to display.

This is another enchanting, guaranteed original 20th-century Italian watercolour painting by the listed landscape artist Neretti (Born 1900).

The Artwork & Subject:
This vertical panoramic composition captures an atmospheric ground-level view of Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square) in Venice. The perspective showcases the intricate Neoclassical and Byzantine architecture of the St. Mark's Basilica domes alongside the grand Campanile bell tower. A lone figure walks across the expansive piazza under a soft blue sky.
The work perfectly highlights Neretti's signature mastery of fine architectural detail overlaid with transparent watercolour washes. It is clearly hand-signed "Neretti" in the lower left corner.

Framing & Provenance:
This piece is safely housed under glass within a vintage gold-toned mount board and a slim gold-gilt wood frame. The reverse retains its original aged backing assembly with a historic pencilled gallery stock number, adding fantastic pedigree.
