Absolutely stunning vintage Swedish art glass horse-head sculpture, attributed to FM Konstglas of Ronneby, Sweden.

This impressive piece stands approximately 10 inches tall and measures approximately 6¼ inches wide at the base. The sculpture features a dramatic combination of smoky charcoal/black glass surrounded by crystal-clear glass, creating incredible depth as the light passes through it.

The dark glass features a beautiful feathered, finely bubbled internal texture, while the horse’s flowing transparent mane, ears, facial features and sculptural contours were individually formed to create a striking sense of movement.

Based on the design, Ronneby attribution and distinctive glass treatment, this piece is consistent with work produced by FM Konstglas Ronneby, including horse designs associated with Benito Marcolin. Because we have not located a visible etched signature on this particular example, it is being offered conservatively as attributed to FM Konstglas Ronneby rather than represented as a signed example.

Measurements:

Approximately 10” tall

Approximately 6¼” wide at base

The sculpture displays beautifully. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition, including the underside. The underside retains a dark protective base covering/pad. No visible artist signature has been located.

A fantastic statement piece for a collection of Scandinavian glass, Swedish art glass, equestrian décor, Mid-Century Modern design or studio art glass.

The combination of the nearly black interior, controlled-bubble texture and sweeping crystal-clear mane makes this horse absolutely spectacular under good lighting.
