1957 Minkus Comprehensive World-Wide Stamp Album Collection - 296 Photos

Up for sale is a 1957 Minkus "The Comprehensive World-Wide Stamp Album" -- black hardbound, green and gold titling with a globe device -- holding a worldwide collection built up in it over many years. The album and everything mounted in it are sold together as one lot.

"Comprehensive World-Wide" is the publisher's name for the album itself. It is not a claim about how much of it is filled -- please read the coverage note below and judge from the photos.

The 296 photographs below show every page carrying at least two stamps. They are the substantive content of this album.

Of the pages not photographed, most have no stamps on them at all, and a few scattered ones may carry a single stamp. So what you see below is the collection, not a sample of it.

Some of what is in it
A worldwide run, with page numbers reaching past 559. Among the pages pictured:
• United States commemoratives of the 1930s and 1940s -- Army and Navy, the Overrun Countries flag issue, Iwo Jima, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine
• Germany -- Deutsches Reich Germania issues, inflation era, and later DDR
• Austria, including a 1969 Vienna State Opera souvenir sheet on corner mounts
• Vatican City, with sets that appear unused
• Norway, Kenya-Uganda-Tanganyika from King George V through Queen Elizabeth II, and French Morocco

A mix of used and apparently unused throughout. Note that some material postdates the album itself -- the Austria sheet is from 1969 -- so the collection is not limited to what had been issued by 1957. No stamp count, catalogue value or grading is offered, and nothing here is certified; the photos are the description.

Condition
No significant foxing or tanning was observed, and the binding is solid. There is some staining, and an old sticker of some sort was previously attached inside the cover, leaving remains and residue behind.

The pages generally appear to be in good condition with no major page flaws observed, and they appear to be intact -- though there is no way to confirm that with certainty on an album of this size, so it is stated as an observation rather than a guarantee.
