A striking celebration of earth, stone, and nature in warm shades of golden brown, ochre and amber.  The centerpiece of this one-of-a-kind necklace is a substantial hand-carved turquoise pendant, beautifully detailed with dimensional flowers and leaves.  The stone is especially unusual for its dramatic mixture of mustard-gold, chocolate brown, charcoal and earthy matrix, giving the pendant the appearance of a tiny carved landscape or botanical work of art.  I paired the pendant with large, polished brown jasper gemstone beads, chosen for their warm natural coloring and subtle wood-grain and landscape-like patterns.  Their understated richness allows the intricate pendant to remain the star of the necklace.  Small yellow Ethiopian opals are placed throughout the strand, bringing unexpected flashes of honey, orange and fiery color.  Each opal is framed with gold-plated daisy spacers, adding just enough golden detail to illuminate the earthy palette without overwhelming it.  The ornate gold vermeil bail is a beautiful touch and complement the warm golden areas within the turquoise itself.  The necklace is finished with a gold plated clasp and 2.5 inch gold plated extension chain, allowing some adjustability.  The earrings are made with brown jasper beads with yellow opal beads on top and below, and attached to decorative crystal diamond leaf like extensions.
