Up for sale is beautiful vintage guitar made by one of most respected Japanese luthiers, Mr. Toshihiko Nakade. A proud member of Sakazo Nakade luthier dynasty, Toshihiko learned the best from his father, along with studying at famous Spanish Hernandez y Aguado workshop. Upon returning to Japan, he set up his own shop in early 70s. Toshihiko was building the guitars for 50 years, until his passing in 2023. His recent instruments were priced 5000 eur on average. Model Deluxe 20 comes from 'golden' period of Japanese guitar building, made in 1979. That was a higher-end model at the time, with the price tag of 200,000 yen - a similar quality guitar would cost you around 500,000 yen nowadays.

All solid woods of very high quality - the top is selected Spruce, back and sides are Indian Rosewood, neck is presumably cedar with ebony stripe, fretboard is ebony. Bracing pattern is very light symmetric 7-fan pattern with parallel block in the middle, apparently inspired by HyA design. Lacquer is cashew (typical Japanese approach, similar to shellack). Scale is 650 mm, nut width is 52 mm. Weight is 1.6 kg.

Very good condition for nearly 50 years old guitar - there is general feel of use, some small dings and scratches throughout, but nothing really worth focusing on. No cracks, no repairs. Neck and body geometry is fine. Back of the neck is in perfect condition. Strings are at set at standard height, with the saddle having some room to make it lower if necessary.

Sound-wise, it delivers that sweet vintage tone many players and collectors are looking for - mature, noble, balanced, with Japanese clarity and Spanish character. That's a concert class guitar which also can be used in different music genres. Please ask for a demo and I'll record one for you.
