Up for sale is a classic Vintage LUMEX No. 3EL Precision Optics Microscope. This is a "Self-Illuminating" model, designed to be used with either its built-in electric light or the traditional reflective mirror. It features a sturdy, hammered-finish metal body and high-quality Japanese optics typical of this era. This set is remarkably complete, including the original wooden storage case and the rare supplementary instruction sheet.

Condition:

• Cosmetic: The microscope is in excellent vintage condition with very minimal wear to the finish. The chrome components remain bright.

• Mechanical: The focusing knobs turn smoothly, and the revolving nosepiece clicks into place as it should.

• Electrical/Light: The battery compartment underneath is clean (see photos). Please note that the external wiring at the rear of the base appears to have some exposed/frayed sections and may require a simple re-soldering or electrical tape for consistent use of the internal light. It is being sold as-is regarding the internal lighting function.

• Case: The wooden case is solid and functional; it shows minor age-related scuffs and a beautiful natural patina.
