Group of four late Georgian Antique pearlware children's mug fragments. Decorated with letters of the Alphabet and images of animals, people and objects. In various colours. 1 - D, Dog, man with shovel - dark blue colour (half mug with handle)
2 - E, Elephant with text -Green colour (missing handle)
3 - D, Dingo, duck C- Cow - petrol blue colour (missing handle, chip to top edge)
4 - Text about Mother, cats at table - petrol blue colour
All mugs/fragments are unmarked. They came from a Victorian pottery or refuse pit. Probably made in Staffordshire, circa 1830. These mugs are fascinating social history. We have had these in our collection and now letting them find another home.Another group of four mugs is listed as well.
Measurements: all mugs are about 7-8 cm high, ~7.5 cm diameter, 10 cm with handles (those that have them).
Condition: All mugs have damages, missing parts and cracks. Stains and surface craquelure. Please enquire if you have any questions.
