I don't think these were ever used for cooking but they all have issues.   The Price tags show they were marked down items.   My best guess is that these pans were store shelf samples because of the scratches.    These came from my Aunt's storage locker  (hadn't been opened since the mid 90s)  she bought a lot of sale items and put them in the locker.   

I haven't tried to polish or clean these pans

This pan has scuffs and scratches and some discoloration  The stainless looks very nice.
