Up for sale is a wonderful classical guitar from famous Japanese luthier Masaki Sakurai (Masaru Kohno Workshop). This rare model is called Excellent, was in production from mid 80s until early 90s and served as a bridge between Standard and Concert models. Masaki-san sadly passed last year - no more guitars are being produced under his name, which already commands higher prices for his exquisite instruments.

All solid woods - top is selected aged cedar, back and sides are wild-grained Indian Rosewood (looks gorgeous in real life), neck is genuine mahogany with reinforcement ebony stripes, fretboard is ebony. Scale is 650 mm, nut width is 52 mm. Bracing pattern is Sakurai lattice.

Very good condition for a 40-year old guitar - there are signs of use like a handful of small dings and scratches, slight lacquer deterioration traces in the neck area, but nothing really worth mentioning - just a normal player's wear for a vintage instrument. No structural defects, no cracks, no repairs. Neck geometry is fine, strings are set at standard height with the saddle allowing to lower them for 1 mm if needed.

Sound is trademark Sakurai - bold, punchy and warm, lovely balanced across the whole range. It is an advanced student/concert class instrument, will serve as a valuable addition to every collection. Comes in vintage Takabe hardshell case.
