Up for sale is an exquisite vintage concert guitar made by one of the most respected Japanese luthiers, mr. Sakazo Nakade. This model is labelled No.5000, made in 1981 and was most likely highest at the time, with hefty price tag of 500,000 yen (No.8000 was apparently introduced few years later). Something of similar grade would cost around 5500 EUR nowadays. Top-notch models from legendary Sakazo Nakade are increasingly hard to find, so take your chance on this one.

Woods are selected Spruce, back and sides are finest Indian Rosewood, neck is genuine mahogany with ebony-walnut reinforcement stripe, fretboard is dark ebony. Tuners are itself work of art, with art nouveau angel engravings - looks fantastic in real life. Headstock is designed in Hernandez y Aguado style, who were mentors for Nakade family. Bracing pattern is fan, close to HyA designs. Scale is 650 mm, nut width is 52 mm.

Very good condition for a 45-years old guitar - it wasn't resting in the case, so there are traces of use like small dings and scratches, some wear at the lower backside of the neck (doesn't interfere with playing), a patina and tiny lacquer crack on the top - overall, nothing serious and totally normal for any vintage guitar. No wood cracks. Original bridge had to be replicated - work has been flawlessly done by Jost von Huene (Dresden, Germany) with 12-holes design. Aside from that, no repairs. Neck geometry is fine, strings are at comfortable height. New set of Knobloch Actives 400 ADQ is installed. The guitar is fully set up and ready to play out of the box.

Sounds fantastic, as one can imagine - Sakazo Nakade started as a violin maker so I am under the impression that he tried to give some sort of violin tone for his best creations. Very sweet, dark and complex voice, rounded and focused, with single notes clearly pronounced. The guitar is light-weight and very resonant. Neck is super comfortable to play one. Nothing is perfect in this world, so it would be fair to mention that 1st string 13th fret (F2) is a wolf note. Other than that, the guitar is lovely balanced across the whole spectrum. A solid choice for professional artists, will serve as a lovely addition to every collection. Comes in deluxe faux-crocodile case. Priced to sell.
