Watercolour painting of West Country town by Edward Leslie Gunston (1895 -1988). In glass fronted frame. Painting signed twice by the artist, once with the date of 1946 and and also one without the date. I take the painting to be of a West Country town near to the sea.
Edward Leslie Gunston was an architect by trade. He was the cousin of Wilfred Owen, first world war poet
Approximate size of the frame: 49cm x 39.5cm. Size of painting in inner frame :36cm x 25.5cm. Weight 1.746kg. Hanging string to the back.
Some dirt marks to inner frame, and also appears to discolouration to top right corner and edge, which may have been caused by the mount. May wish to reframe. Chip mark to frame to the left side.
