Founded in 1977, Headway Guitars, located in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, is dedicated to crafting each guitar with meticulous attention to detail.
Founded in 1977 by the late Master Builder Yasuo Momose, Headway Guitars continues to make guitars with the belief that they will create guitars that can be played for a lifetime. While learning from the traditional guitar-making methods of Europe and America, they have developed their own unique guitar-making techniques, refining them over many years. Even after more than 40 years, they continue to hone their skills day and night to create even better guitars, and are committed to the advancement of their technology with an unyielding desire for improvement.
This instrument is a rare D-41 style HD-210, produced in the early 1980s.

This model, popular among enthusiasts, was also produced in limited quantities in 2008 as part of the Showa-era Headway reissue project. The luxurious pearl hexagon inlays, abalone trim & rosette will satisfy your desire to own it with its gorgeous appearance.

The HD-210 is a model with an interesting history; it was actually released in the late 1970s as a D-28 style guitar, but later changed to a D-41 type while retaining the same model number.

A classic specification combining a spruce top with a well-defined grain and rosewood with a subdued color. It has the honest appearance typical of Japanese-made guitars of that era.

It boasts the rich bass and solid midrange characteristic of a dreadnought. It spreads powerfully when strummed, and delivers a clear, articulate tone when fingerstyled. It features a dynamic and sparkling sound with a firm texture, thanks to its non-scalloped neck. With its straightforward response and stable neck grip, it can handle everything from chord work to lead playing.

There are signs of repair on a dent on the back of the neck, tarnishing on the metal parts due to age, and fine scratches and dents throughout the body, showing signs of use commensurate with its age. It possesses a character and depth that new guitars lack, which actually enhances its "flavor." Functionally, there are no problems, and for those who appreciate a vintage-like atmosphere, this is an attractive instrument in excellent condition. Even after more than 40 years, the stability of the guitar, immediately apparent the moment you pick it up, is a testament to Headway's exceptional quality.
