Vintage OT 925 Sterling Silver Heart Ring – Blue Cabochon – Size 6.5
A charming little sterling silver ring built around a heart-shaped blue cabochon in an unusually elaborate floral/revival-style setting.
The heart is held by a serrated bezel/prong surround and framed by layered rope, bead and fan-like decorative work. The split/double-wire style shoulders give the relatively petite ring considerably more visual presence than its 3-gram weight would suggest.
The blue cabochon displays mottled lighter and darker blue coloration with pale cloudy matrix. It has the visual character of lapis/sodalite-type material, but the stone has not been gemologically tested and is therefore being sold simply as an unidentified blue stone.

925The OT mark is found on other sterling jewelry associated in the secondary market with Turkish manufacture, but because this particular ring bears no visible country-of-origin mark, we are making no definitive attribution beyond the hallmark itself.

There is noticeable tarnish and oxidation, particularly beneath and behind the setting. I would leave it alone. On this design the darkened recesses are doing half the visual work, and polishing it to death would turn a nicely dimensional vintage ring into a shiny little pancake.
