Vintage #1 Garland solid-head rawhide hammer, as pictured.

These are still made by the 6th generation business in Maine.

The #1 here has a head length of 4" (rawhide included).

Diameter of rawhide is 1-1/4" where it fits into the head, but it is more like 1-3/8" on the used faces.

Total weight of the hammer (with handle) is 15.2 ounces.

Total length = 10-1/2"

The handle is in good shape. There is a very slight movement of the handle in the head. Very slight.

One rawhide insert can be turned in it's socket, but is not loose enough to be removed. The other rawhide is solid in its socket.

This tool is as I found it in an old barn workshop. I have done nothing to clean or restore it.

I will promptly ship this classic, quality tool to you by USPS Ground Advantage.

Thank you.
