The ER4047 TIG aluminum welding rod is a high-silicon aluminum filler metal designed for brazing and for welding cast and wrought aluminum where maximum fluidity and crack resistance are required. Each rod measures 36 inches. With a nominal 11-13% silicon content, ER4047 has a lower melting range and a much narrower freezing range than ER4043, so it flows into tight joints, fills gaps cleanly and produces dense, leak-tight welds with minimal shrinkage cracking.

Store rods in a dry, clean area and keep them free of oil and moisture. Clean the base metal to bright with a dedicated stainless brush and degrease before welding for best results.
Please note: ER4047 welds finish slightly darker than the base metal and are not recommended where the part will be anodized for appearance. For structural welds requiring higher elongation, choose ER4043 or ER5356.
